In terms of formula properties, Foundry Coating Binder falls into multiple systems such as water-based acrylic, water glass and phenolic resin. Each system features precisely adjusted pH values, curing mechanisms and compatibilizers. Common wall coatings, metal anti-corrosion coatings, wood coatings and other products adopt totally different resin substrates, pH values, curing additives and film-forming mechanisms. Mixing them with Foundry Coating Binder triggers chemical reactions between different components, immediately causing flocculation, agglomeration, caking and gelation, which renders the entire coating unusable.
Even without instant caking, the stability of mixed coating systems will be completely disrupted. After brushing onto mold surfaces, defects such as uneven film formation, shrinkage cavities, pinholes and sagging will appear. During high-temperature molten metal pouring, the mixed coating suffers drastically reduced temperature resistance and bonding strength. Coating peeling and cracking frequently occur, resulting in casting defects such as sand adhesion, burrs, rough surfaces and pores, greatly raising rejection rates. Moreover, mismatched drying and curing speeds of different coatings lead to uneven coating moisture and residual internal stress, further undermining coating stability.

In practical production, the only acceptable mixing scenario involves Foundry Coating Binder and matched foundry coatings of the same series from one manufacturer. Products in this set feature compatible formula parameters, and mixing can optimize comprehensive coating performance. Additionally, mixing foundry coatings from different brands or categories arbitrarily is prohibited, let alone blending civil or general industrial coatings. If auxiliary materials need to be matched during production, carry out compatibility tests at small proportions in advance. Observe whether delamination, caking or discoloration occurs. Confirm system stability before mass mixing to avoid production risks.
